Lifetime Warranty

Every Custom Ring Co piece is made to order, and we stand behind the craftsmanship for as long as you own it. Our lifetime warranty (the "Custom Ring Co Warranty") comes with every qualifying piece automatically. There's nothing to sign or register: it starts the day your piece first arrives.

What's covered

If your piece has a manufacturing defect, we'll make it right. Once our jeweler confirms the defect, you can choose:

  • A free repair or replacement, or
  • A refund of the original price, once the piece is returned to us and the return is approved.

For the natural life of your piece, we also take care of the upkeep at no charge:

  • Inspection and refurbishment
  • Cleaning
  • Tightening loose prongs
  • Rhodium plating and re-plating

If any part has worn or been damaged past the point where it can be repaired or restored, we'll let you know.

What isn't covered

  • Everyday wear, including the fine surface scratches all precious metals pick up over time
  • Discoloration of metal or stones caused by chemicals, heat, or long periods in water
  • Damage from abrasive materials, extreme temperatures, or harsh environments
  • Misuse, negligence, or unusually rough or extreme wear, and any damage caused on purpose
  • Stones that fall out because a prong was bent or broken
  • Lost or stolen center stones
  • Stones, metals, or other materials you provide to us
  • Pendants, necklaces, bracelet chains, earring backs, nose rings, and other non-standard body jewelry

Where damage comes from misuse, negligence, or extreme wear, you're responsible for the cost of the repair. CUSTOM RING CO IS NOT LIABLE FOR REPAIRS NEEDED BECAUSE OF EXTRAORDINARY WEAR OR UNUSUAL, EXTREME, OR DELIBERATELY DAMAGING TREATMENT.

What voids the warranty

Please bring any issue straight to us. The warranty is void if your piece is repaired, resized, customized, or otherwise altered by anyone other than Custom Ring Co, and attempting a repair yourself can void it too. Assessments from other jewelers are welcome as information, but our own jeweler makes the final call.

Keeping your piece in shape

Fine jewelry lasts longest with regular care. Most pieces need maintenance about once a year, more often if they see heavy wear. Keeping up with maintenance through us is your responsibility, and when we review a claim, we'll take into account how well your piece has been looked after.

Who it covers

This warranty belongs to the original purchaser. It doesn't transfer to anyone who buys the piece secondhand, and we can't offer warranty service or exchanges on resold items.

Making a claim

  1. Tell us what's going on through our contact page.
  2. Send it in. Any suspected defect has to come back to us for inspection, and we'll help you arrange it.
  3. We take a look. One of our jewelers inspects the piece and works out what it needs.
  4. We make it right. Covered work is done at no cost. If anything falls outside the warranty, we'll send you a quote first. We never charge for, or start, a paid repair without your OK.

Shipping: we pay shipping and insurance on your original order. Shipping and insurance on any later trips, including warranty returns, are your responsibility.

Found a loose stone, or think one might be? Stop wearing the piece and send it to us at the first sign of trouble. If a stone has come out, put it and the ring together in a closed box and let us know right away. Lost center stones aren't covered, so an early check can save a lot of heartache.
